Align Psychiatry does not contract with any insurance providers. The practice is “out of network.” This means that insurance is not accepted and you are responsible for fees at the time of booking. Upon request, you will be provided with a superbill to submit to your insurance should you chose to do so. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for out-of-network services. This varies widely for each individual’s insurance plan. Dr. Aubergine is committed to providing the highest standard of care based on each patient’s individual needs. She prefers that the time spent for your or your child’s care not be limited by restrictions imposed by a third party.

It is highly recommended that you first check with your insurance regarding out of network benefits if you are concerned about reimbursement.

If Dr. Aubergine determines that her outpatient practice is appropriate for the patient’s needs, she will discuss a treatment plan at length. Medication is sometimes, and not always, recommended. Extensive training is required for a proper understanding of pharmacodynamics (what a medication does to the body) and pharmacokinetics (what the body does to the medication). Many patients do benefit from medication as a part of their treatment plan. A multitude of factors are taken into consideration when determining who is a good candidate for treatment with which type of medication: age, symptoms and severity, past treatments, individual concerns, among many others. Time and time again studies have shown that combination treatment of therapy and medication have the best outcomes. The goal of treatment is, of course, to always have the most positive impact on functioning without any adverse effects.

Follow-up appointments are an essential part of proper treatment and how often these are scheduled differs depending on each individual’s case.

  • Yes. Dr. Aubergine has been providing telepsychiatry services via a secure, video-conferencing platform to her patients for many years. There are many benefits to a telepsychiatry model. For example, efficient high-quality care, the patient’s comfort, and greater safety in light of illnesses. Telepsychiatry does have some limitations, including but not limited to federal restrictions on the prescribing of controlled prescriptions. Telepsychiatry services are available to patients located in the state of Illinois.

  • Psychotherapy is often referred to as ‘therapy.’ There are many different modalities as some are used to address very specific emotional concerns and illnesses. Therapy can explore many different aspects of a person’s life depending on what their current concerns or symptoms are. A patient in therapy should find relief from symptoms, resolution of conflicts, strategies to manage challenges, and improvement in overall being. Everyone who is receptive to working on personal growth or healing can benefit from therapy.

Psychotherapy is oftentimes a principal component of treatment. The use of medication combined with good psychotherapy has the best outcomes. Dr. Aubergine may recommend psychotherapy as part of your treatment plan. She is currently not accepting new patients for psychotherapy sessions but she works closely with many highly skilled therapists if her patients are in need of a recommendation.
